BOCMC turns 7

September 5, 2017

WOW. What a crazy, amazing, miraculous 7 years it’s been! It’s amazing to see how God has grown this church, since its beginning in 2010, not only in size, but in its capacity to reach the community and grow individuals in their faith.

We celebrated the Church’s 7th anniversary on Sunday, 3rd September and the day was filled with a variety of performances, with everyone from JA1 (Ages 5-7) to the youth and adults contributing. Some notable performances included Phillip playing the piano, Galaxy treating us to some ballroom dancing, Raymond and Lena singing ‘The Prayer’ and ‘Father’ (Chinese song) and the parents performing a ‘Cowboy-inspired’ dance number. It was so encouraging to see the entire church contributing and helping out.

Now, as we move towards the end of 2017 and towards a new year, we are praying that God would grow us in 7 specific areas:

  • Maturity
  • Generosity
  • Purity
  • Humility
  • Passion
  • Resilience
  • Unity

God is good; we believe that He will continue to sustain us into the future and take us higher and higher, up and up!

Keroyokan Fundraising Night

September 2, 2017
Post Image

On Saturday 26th August. BOCMC had its first ever “‘Keroyokan’ Fundraiser Night” to raise money for our bi-annual Church Retreat. For those of you not acquainted with the word, Keroyokan means ‘crash’ or the ‘act of crashing’, but can also describe an Indonesian meal whereby all the food (rice, fried chicken, tempe, sambal, and all other delicious things) is placed in the middle of a long table and people share in the meal together. This act of eating all together, at the same time, from the same table likens it to a ‘crash’ of people fighting for food, hence the name.

It was a great night filled with delicious food, great entertainment and an overall strong community spirit. Try not to salivate as you look through the photos.
